Chinese Culture

Room 9 has been learning about the Chinese culture. 

We did a little brainstorm about what we already know and here are some of the things we came up with!

We would love to learn more so if you know a lot about this culture let us know some more facts!

Matching Game With Our Buddy Class

Last Friday our buddy class came over to show us a new game that they all made. 

It was all about matching pictures of different objects in the classroom. One picture would have the english word and one would have the Maori word. 

This was so helpful in learning the Maori words for things we use everyday.

Wacky Dress Up Day

On Friday we had a wacky dress up day to raise money for KidsCan and Room 9 looked amazing! 

They all look so awesome!

We even had some cool hairstyles.

Osmo

This week we had a try with the Osmo games. 

We did the word game during our Reading rotations and we all had so much fun!

We can't wait until we get osmo in our classroom again!

Designing Cakes

Last week our big book was called The Fantastic Cake by Joy Cowley. 

 After reading the book we thought it would be fun to design our own cake. 

We had so many awesome cake designs. Well done Room 9!

Origami with our buddy class

On the last day of Term 2 Room 9 headed over to Room 15 to see our buddies. 

We were very lucky that Room 15 and Mrs Smith had planned to teach us how to do origami. 

It was a but tricky at first but once our buddies helped us we were able to create some awesome origami!

Party for Mrs Burge

At the end of last term we had a party to say thank you to Mrs Burge for all the amazing things she did for us. 

We started off by singing some songs and dancing.

Then we played some party games. 

First we did musical statues.

Then we played musical chairs. How fun!

We also got to decorate a biscuit with icing and hundred and thousands. Yummy!

We are going to miss Mrs Burge but luckily she is right next door!
